{"id":322,"date":"2019-07-07T12:54:09","date_gmt":"2019-07-07T12:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a.afromedegypt.com\/?p=322"},"modified":"2019-07-07T12:54:09","modified_gmt":"2019-07-07T12:54:09","slug":"what-causes-hair-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/afromedegypt.com\/index.php\/2019\/07\/07\/what-causes-hair-loss\/","title":{"rendered":"What Causes Hair Loss?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Doctors\ndon&#8217;t know why certain hair follicles are programmed to have a shorter growth\nperiod than others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;However,\nseveral factors may influence hair loss:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Hormones<\/strong>, such as abnormal\n     levels of androgens (male hormones normally produced by both men and\n     women)<\/li><li><strong>Genes<\/strong>, from both male and female parents, may\n     influence a person&#8217;s predisposition to male or female pattern baldness.<\/li><li><strong>Stress, illness, and&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/baby\/guide\/delivery-methods\"><strong>childbirth<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>can cause temporary\n     hair loss.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/skin-problems-and-treatments\/ringworm-myths-facts\">Ringworm<\/a> caused by a fungal\n     infection can also cause hair loss.<\/li><li><strong>Drugs<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/cancer\/chemotherapy-what-to-expect\">chemotherapy<\/a>&nbsp;drugs used\n     in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/cancer\/understanding-cancer-treatment\">cancer\n     treatment<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/heart-disease\/ss\/slideshow-tips-for-taking-blood-thinners\">blood\n     thinners<\/a>, beta-adrenergic blockers used to control&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/hypertension-high-blood-pressure\/guide\/diastolic-and-systolic-blood-pressure-know-your-numbers\">blood\n     pressure<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/sex\/birth-control\/birth-control-pills\">birth\n     control pills<\/a>, can cause temporary hair loss.<\/li><li><strong>Burns, injuries, and X-rays<\/strong>&nbsp;can cause\n     temporary hair loss. In such cases, normal hair growth usually returns\n     once the injury heals unless a scar is produced. Then, hair will never\n     regrow.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/a-to-z-guides\/autoimmune-diseases\"><strong>Autoimmune\n     disease<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>may cause alopecia areata. In alopecia\n     areata, the immune system revs up for unknown reasons and affects the hair\n     follicles. In most people with alopecia areata, the hair grows back,\n     although it may temporarily be very fine and possibly a lighter color\n     before normal coloration and thickness return.<\/li><li><strong>Cosmetic procedures<\/strong>, such as shampooing\n     too often, perms, bleaching, and dyeing hair can contribute to overall\n     hair thinning by making hair weak and brittle. Tight braiding, using\n     rollers or hot curlers, and running hair picks through tight curls can\n     also damage and break hair. However, these procedures don&#8217;t cause\n     baldness. In most instances hair grows back normally if the source of the\n     problem is removed. Still, severe damage to the hair or scalp sometimes\n     causes permanent bald patches.<\/li><li><strong>Medical conditions.&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/women\/picture-of-the-thyroid\">Thyroid<\/a>&nbsp;disease,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/lupus\/default.htm\">lupus<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/diabetes\/default.htm\">diabetes<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/webmd\/consumer_assets\/controlled_content\/healthwise\/mini\/iron_deficiency_anemia-topic_overview_mini_hw166955.xml\">iron\n     deficiency<\/a> anemia,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/mental-health\/eating-disorders\/signs-of-eating-disorders\">eating\n     disorders<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/a-to-z-guides\/understanding-anemia-basics\">anemia<\/a>&nbsp;can cause hair\n     loss.
